This exhibition is a spotlight show of selected works by talented emerging artists in North Wales – Fine Art Graduates of 2009.

John Davies - Ar y bont (Print)

Each artist has made work in response to the theme of "Cynefin" (Ku-nevin), a Welsh word for which there is no equivalent in English. It comes from the Welsh for ‘habitat’ and from a similar root to the English ‘heft’ or ‘heaf’ which describes the way a mother lamb will teach her offspring the traditional territory of her flock.

Kyffin Williams beautifully described the deeper experience of Cynefin as the connection with a sense of place and time which is, somehow personal and at the same time universal.
